Leucorrhoea is one of the most common manifestations seen nowadays in clinical practice. It also affects the psychology of women irrespective of socio-economic status, occupation, etc. It is not a disorder of the reproductive system but can also occur due to abnormality in general health factors. Although it seems to be a negligible symptom initially if not treated in time can lead to major complications. So, let’s know how one can treat leucorrhoea naturally.
Leucorrhoea in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, leucorrhoea is known as Swetapradara which is caused due to the vitiation of Kapha and Vata doshas. In Ayurvedic texts, it is mentioned that “na hi vatadrite yonivnitanam padushati” (A.S. Ut. 39/52). It means that this disorder does not occur without the vitiation of Vata dosha. Vata dosha, especially vitiated Apana vayu, causes white discharge because its main karma is Pravartna of Adhomargagata Malas.
In the same way, vitiated Kapha also plays a major role in the pathogenesis of leucorrhoea as it produces ama (toxins) in the body which is described as –“na paakah pittadrite” (Su. Su. 17/7). It means the onset of suppuration and formation of pus occurs due to vitiated Pitta dosha. So, pitta dosha is also one of the responsible factors which cause vaginal discharge in the cause of vaginitis, cervicitis etc.
So, it is justified that women of Vata-Pitta and Pitta-Kapha prakriti are more prone to swetapradara.
The women who are not aware of their personal hygiene are also prone to suffer.
