Introduction

Premature Ejaculation (PE) is one of the most common male sexual dysfunctions that affects approximately 40% of men throughout the world. Sexual dysfunction is characterized by short ejaculatory latency time, decreased satisfaction with sexual intercourse, and lack of ejaculation control, it is known as premature ejaculation and has a deep negative impact on men's self-esteem and also reduces quality of sexual life.

In Ayurveda, premature ejaculation is correlated with derangement of Vata Dosha in the reproductive tissue (Shukra Gata Vata) with the main symptom Kshipram Munchanam. This Shukra Gata Vata has different clinical presentations like premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, or premature birth.

Premature Ejaculation Ayurvedic Treatment

In premature ejaculation, Vata Dosha aggravated and results in reproductive tissue depletion (Shukra Dhatu Kshaya), and along with this anxiety (Chinta), fera (Bhaya), and doubt (Ashanka) are also the triggers behind this condition.

At IAFA Ayurveda with the deep understanding of modern neurophysiology and ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, premature ejaculation is managed within the deep roots and not just the symptoms by calming the nervous system, strengthening the reproductive tissues, and rejuvenating the body.

Detoxification Therapy (Shodhana Therapy) for Premature Ejaculation

  • Medicated Enema Therapy (Basti) - In this process, medicated oil or decoctions are administered through the rectum. Different types of enema therapies are done for premature ejaculation like oil enema (Anuvasna Basti) that strengthens reproductive tissues, decoction enema (Niruha Basti) with the use of medicated oils like Bala Taila and Ashwgandhadi Taila. Basti helps in nourishing Apana Vata, the sub-Vata Dosha that strengthens reproductive channels, and pelvic muscles and governs ejaculation. Enema therapy helps in restoring control over ejaculation.
  • Oil Massage (Abhyanga) - Warm-medicated oils are applied over the affected area. Massage or Abhyanga pacifies Vata Dosha, and nourishes and strengthens nerves and muscles. Oil massage helps in enhancing blood flow to the genital region which improves control and hence gives good results in case of premature ejaculation.
  • Fomentation Therapy (Swedana) - In this therapy with the use of medicated decoctions, steam is given to the patient which induces sweating. Swedana is done in such a way that it helps in losing tension that is in the lower abdomen muscles, and pelvic muscles and also increases circulation to reproductive organs.
  • Oil Drip Therapy (Shiro Dhara) - In this therapy, continuous medicated oil is poured over the head for a certain period. It is recommendable in cases where mental stress is high and premature ejaculation is mainly anxiety or stress-induced. It supports GABA activity and reduces stress and anxiety, the key triggers of PE. It also helps to calm the brain and balances mental channels i.e. Manovaha Strotas.
